Role overview
We are seeking an Associate Chief of Staff with strong consulting experience- ideally from a top-tier strategy firm - who brings both strategic insight and operational execution ability. You’ll act as a central orchestrator for key programs from R&D to Innovation in the Middle East and globally, ensuring that Submer’s initiatives are aligned, prioritized, and executed with rigor. A secondment with one of our strategic clients is highly likely, offering a unique opportunity to drive value at the intersection of strategy and execution.
This role is ideal for someone with Senior Engagement Manager / Manager-level experience who wants to make a tangible impact in a deep-tech company with global ambitions and local growth in the Middle East.
Key responsibilities
Program Management: Lead the planning, coordination, and tracking of strategic initiatives from R&D, Innovation, across product, operations, and commercial teams—locally and globally.
Innovation Program Leadership: Oversee the delivery of innnovation-focused projects, ensuring alignment between emerging technologies, market needs, and Submer's strategic vision.
Regional Execution: Serve as Submer’s executional anchor in the Middle East, working closely with regional partners, strategic clients, and internal teams to ensure seamless program delivery.
Strategic Alignment: Translate high-level strategy into actionable roadmaps and workstreams, and measurable outcomes aligned with company OKRs.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a critical liaison between global HQ, regional teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistent coordination and execution.
Governance & Reporting: Design and implement structured governance frameworks, progress-tracking tools, and executive reporting cadences to ensure visibility and accountability.
Risk & Issue Management: Identify project risk and blockers early, develop mitigation plans, and drive proactive problem resolution using data-driven insights.
Change Management: Facilitate adoption of new processes, tools, and initiatives across teams, ensuring organizational readiness and alignment.
Stakeholder Management: Partner with senior executives, clients, and partners to align expectations, communicate progress, and influence decision-making at key junctures.
Required experience
- ~6–9 years of total experience, including 3–5 years in a top-tier consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or similar.) or in a strategy/PMO role within a tech or infrastructure company.
- A strong foundation in R&D, combined with demonstrated experience managing complex, innovation and technology programs within a PMO or similar structured environment is essential.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic, ambiguous, and fast-paced environments.
- Previous experience working in or with the Middle East region is nice to have.
