The Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our People team in Spain. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, aligning people strategies with organizational objectives while supporting compliance with Spanish labor law and HR best practices. You'll be a key player in helping Submer scale effectively through its next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with managers to design and execute people strategies that drive performance, engagement, and growth.
- Provide expert guidance on Spanish labor law, employment practices, and employee relations.
- Manage HR compliance processes, including contracts, onboarding, and policy implementation.
- Support health & safety responsibilities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment with local regulations.
- Coach managers on performance management, development conversations, and team dynamics.
- Support organizational design, workforce planning, and change initiatives.
- Help drive employee engagement, culture initiatives, and DEI efforts.
- Analyze HR data and trends to inform decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage all recruitment out of the Spanish entity ensuring we attract high quality talent to meet our business objectives.
- Collaborate with global HR teams to align local and international HR practices.
- Experience managing a small team of internal recruiters and outside agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in a strategic HR role, ideally within a tech or high-growth international environment.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish labor law and local HR practices bit with the ability to think on a global level.
- Experience in employee relations, talent management, and HR operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Advanced fluency in English
- Experience working in a global environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving organization with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset.
